resort / group tasks, phases etc.

I wonder about the possiblities to sort or group tasks in the view "work packages".

I am only able to group by Subject, but in this case it is impossible to have a second level of sorting e.g. by start date:

On the other hand I thought it should be possible to configure multiple "sort-by"-level. Apparently it seems not to be possible to use the "group-by" option there:

Finaly the ID seems to overrule almost any other sort-order, in fact.

The ideal solution for me would be to

- either become able to use the group-by in combination with other sort-by colums (as described above)

- or even better: to drag and drop tasks (and group of tasks with their child tasks) and sort them manually (having a kind of a colomn "ID-order" or so, which is independant of a primary key in the DB)

Please let me know if I should explain better or if this functionality might already be available. If not, do you plan to implement it, by when?

Dear Sebastian,

the drag & drop functionality in the flat work package list will be implemented in Q1 2019. Hierarchies will be implemented afterwards.

Also, for the sorting of any criteria together with the hierarchy mode, there is already a ticket which will be prioritized: https://community.openproject.com/projects/openproject/work_packages/29416/activity
