I hope I could show how I would deal with this issue.
I will not try to use OpenProject on a mobile device as the tool is too powerful and important to me.
I would limit my efficiency by using a mobile phone (e.g. for typing)
Unfortunately, I am not aware of a mobile app specifically for Open Project. However, you may want to consider working with a company like https://smartengines.com/ that specializes in application development to create a custom app that meets your specific needs. Working with the reliable company can be a great way to create a custom mobile app that meets your specific needs and integrates seamlessly with the tools you are already using. By leveraging their expertise and experience, you can create a powerful and user-friendly app that helps you to stay productive and efficient while on the go.
Seems to me a short term "fix" would be to make the app based off a site specific browser and add a push notification option into OpenProject like so many websites attempt to push onto us.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that for creating this app you will need Android emulator, right? I am currently learning Android app developing and there are a lot of blind spots there. Likewise I can't be learning on my smartphoneas the screen is too small. So at some point in time I guessed I would need vps for android emulator to be able to proceed on my desktop. Have you gotten any experience on that?
If you are developing in java, use the Android Studio from google - an Emulator is included in the development kit.

An app with an offline mode would be a huge plus for me. I work in construction and agriculture and my network is not available through the internet. I can't just fire up a browser and access my projects. If there was a way I could enter work packages and time spent entries and then have them sync up when I got back to the office, that would be awesome. Having a timer button to click on and off on work packages would be a huge help. Even having a way to import time spent entries from a csv file would be a huge help. Using yet another company or app and expanding my data footprint is not a solution for me as I've received several letters in the mail that some company I've been associated with has been hacked and data has been exposed.
the use case you described could indeed benefit enormously from an app with offline capabilities. This topic is not unknown to us and there is already a feature request in place: https://community.openproject.org/wp/50851
Awesome, thank you Alexander! I think I saw that topic when searching for something and just added my 2 cents without actually looking for that particular topic. :)

It would be great! Are there any plans to buil it?
Just go to the website, and use it in the browser, it has a responsive design, so looks and works like an app.
Cheers,
Piotr

Not really, on my Android device opened in browser, UI is broken.
There is an app in the Appstore (beta state).
for the latest updates, for us it looks quite responsive now,
but I agree, it would be better if there was a mobile apps version,
makes it easier for users to directly access the application, compared to opening the browser first
Dear readers, i give my 10 cent
If I would need OpenProject on my Mobile Phone,

That is just how I would do it.

What's this, Sir?
Don't see any schedule for the development of the Mobile App version from the OpenProject team!
This is what I said: There is a Android App in the Google Play Store for OpenProject. There it is.
There is no visible development for this app though.
What is your point on this?

There is nothing on the link anymore. The page is empty. Probably removed.
I am also very interested in the mobile app.

Hi together
I got also asked by some Co-workers, if there is an App existing and can be used.
So I would say the request by the community is there.
Can anyone (openproject developer) tell us, if we shall create an new work package for this or if there exists already a decision?
Thanks in advance
Mary
Hello everyone !
What about due dates reminders? Is there a way to sync this with an Android app to get notified before due dates ?

Any email-App would fit your needs -together with email-notifications from the openproject instance.
Maybe it is not open for any market besides germany. The page ist still there.

Hi Peter
in Switzerland (at least also german speaking) the Link leads to "not found".
We also would love to have a try with the App.

I just added a vote on your behalf.
