Project-based work package identifiers are enabled
... and will be available for everyone with the upcoming release of OpenProject 17.5 next Wednesday!
This Community instance is where we collaborate on upcoming features, discuss improvements, and fix bugs. It's also often the first OpenProject instance to use new features.
So today, we wanted to share a preview of one of the highlights coming with OpenProject 17.5: 🌟 project-based work package identifiers 🌟
Already enabled here, they'll be available for everyone next Wednesday with the release of OpenProject 17.5.
The feature is completely optional, and you can continue using the "traditional" numerical IDs if you prefer. But we have to admit: we've already grown quite fond of the new project-based IDs. At a glance, you can now see which project a work package belongs to without even checking the project column.
This is especially useful when working across multiple projects, managing portfolios, or navigating large OpenProject instances like ours.
We're curious to hear what you think: Are you team project-based IDs or team numerical IDs?
