I’m always happy to see major updates and new features, as long as they’re included in the relevant license. But somehow, smaller features seem to take so much longer.

I use the board view extensively, so I ended up writing a Chrome extension to add some of the features I was missing. These include a simple search that hides all non-matching cards, a task counter for each list, a notification icon on cards that have triggered a notification, and browser notifications for every new OpenProject notification so they also show up in Windows notification center:

With the help of an LLM, this took me roughly 1 to 3 days, working a few hours per day. Maybe smaller features like these could be prioritized a bit more, since the implementation effort seems relatively low compared to the improvement they bring to everyday use.
