Announcement: Significant changes to progress and work estimates

OpenProject will make significant changes to progress and work estimates.

Added by Corinna Günther about 1 year ago

OpenProject is committed to enhancing productivity for teams. Responding to user feedback, we're updating our progress calculation to fix inconsistencies.

Key changes will be in a future release:

  • '% Complete' will be an automatically calculated (non-editable) attribute based on 'Work'.
  • In status-based progress reporting, 'Remaining work' will be automatically calculated.
  • Administrators will be able to exclude certain work packages from hierarchy totals of 'Work', 'Remaining work' and '% Complete'.
  • Updating might result in data loss or modification in certain cases.

For more information read this detailed blog article written by our product team – particularly if you are using OpenProject to track progress.
