**As** any user (really anyone, I swear, period)
**I would like to** have the ability to sort work packages by deadline using a filter
**so that** I don't manage my tasks better with Excel than with OpenProject.

**Acceptance criteria**

* **Filter that ignore automatic finish-dates** OR

* **Filter that ignore empty fields for sorting dates**

At the moment, it is not possible to sort work packages by finish date using the standard date field and parent-child relationship without absurd effort. There are always potential work packages with automatically generated finish dates that cannot be recognized as such. To enable error-free output, complex workarounds would be required, such as manually switching each individual work package to the manual view.

If you generate your own date field, the filter does not allow you to sort these work packages by deadline. Either the work packages that are furthest in the future or the work packages without a deadline are displayed.

Not being able to sort work packages easily by deadline with OpenProject is a bit like saying:
_โ€œSure you can drive your new car too, you just need to remove the floor and run!โ€_
