### Steps to reproduce
1. Reduce browser page width until the sidebar menu expands itself
1. reduce it by reducing browser window width
2. reduce it by snapping the browser window to an edge of the screen
3. reduce it by using the split mode of some browsers like Arc
### What is the buggy behavior?
* The sidebar menu is expanding, taking almost all the place. An dark overlay is displayed on the page.
* It's not obvious how to switch back to normal. Reloading the page switches back to normal.
* On some pages like "My activities" or "My page", there is no side menu expanding, only the overlay, so the page becomes unusable as clicking the overlay does nothing.
### What is the expected behavior?
1. The sidebar menu should hide itself instead of expanding when the browser page width is reduced (like when reloading, but without having to reload).
2. When the browser page is reduced and the sidebar menu is hidden (after a reload for instance), it should be shown again when the browser page is widened (like when reloading, but without having to reload)
3. If sidebar menu has been explicitly shown or hidden by the user, it should be kept shown or hidden. As currently, it should not persist on reload.
4. Clicking the overlay should hide the menu.
5. For pages without sidebar menu navigation, reducing or widening the page width should not display any overlay.
### Screenshots and other files
There are screen recordings recording attached to this bug:

* when the browser window is snapped to the side
* when the browser is in split view mode
