# User Problem
## User
* Project manager
* Project member
## Problem
* There is no way to easily see if you have marked that view as favorite or not in the sidebar.
* The default views are always on top and in a certain order no matter if you starred them or not.
* The default views are not configurable, they are the same for all instances.
* There is no easy way for project admins to pin relevant views for all members of the project.
* The private vs public view setting might be confusing.
# Business Case
## Solution
1. Users can "star" their favorite lists (personal setting/not visible to other users)
* Rename the existing feature in the "Visbility modal" from "Favored" to "Pin".
* Show "Pinned" views in the first section below the search field.
* Add "Star" button in the PageHeader.
* Add a "Star" icon to the starred lists in the sidebar.
* When a user stars a view it will automatically go to the top of the list section it is in (keeping the alphabetical order between starred views).
* Group the lists in a section by showing the starred lists.
2. Introduce new sections in the sidebar with icons in front:
* "Pinned"
* "My private lists"
* "Shared lists"
3. Others
* All the default views that are not pinned by the admins will go to this last "Default lists" section.
* \[open\] We currently cannot pin default views.
* When copying a project the pinning settings are copied as well.
* Add a new permission to be able to pin lists and apply it to all roles that had the permission to "Favored" in the visibility settings.
## Open points
* We currently cannot pin default views. Can we extend this technically?
* Where does the current default views belong?
## Out of scope
* ##57299
* Index pages for all list views that allow users to reorder their lists, and therefore also their sidebars: ###56912
* Editing default views (and when index pages are implemented remove default views)
* Pinning default view across multiple projects
