# Situation
Many people in the organisation use OpenProject but ignore to use the notification center efficiently. Effectively, they ignore messages from other employees by not responding and thus blocking information flow.
Reminding people to mark notifications as read is not effective and also cumbersome on those reminding others (apart from damaging the relationship between those people).
A technical solution seem to be much better.
# User Story
**As** a key user
**I want to** users to read their notifications when they have reached 99+ notifications without telling them explicitly
**so that** the notification center remains useful to the organisation.
**Acceptance criteria**
* a database marker that marks users as having crossed the boundaries of 100 notifications
* a modal pop-up that forces user to mark their notifications as read until they reach less than 10 notifications
* Optional: a switch in admin interface
