The default notification (and other recent email templates) saluation is "Hey (firstname of the user)!", which can be considered a bit rude depending on the language and users.
We do have a system setting on how the name if to be formatted, and could make use of that instead, or provide some other means of making the saluations more formal

The current "Hey {user}!" does indeed sound a too forward/information even in English.
The French translation in Crowdin is "Bonjour {user} !" with the exclamation mark; this also sounds more excited than a notification should.
* As a quick-fix, I would recommend changing the EN source to the more neutral "**Hello {user}**", and the French one to "**Bonjour {user}**" (both without the exclamation mark).
