**As** an OpenProject user
**I want** to receive an email notification before when the due date of a work package becomes overdue (or a custom field of type date) is approaching (or is overdue)
**so that** I save time and energy to do not forget important deadlines.
**Use case (example)**
* Recurring tasks such as
* testing the backup A ticket of type bill or invoice has been created and restore procedure
* doing feedback conversations with team members
* checking needs to be paid. The user can easily forget to pay the logged time invoicing the customers bill if not reminded.
**Acceptance criteria**
* Notifications can Timeframe for reminder should be added for single work packages that are triggered by a rule. configurable.
* Notifications can Reminders should be muted sent for both end dates of work packages that are triggerd by a rule. and custom fields of type date.
* It is For custom fields of type date it has to be possible to set define whether a timefrane to get notified in advance
reminder should be sent (if a relevant end date is referenced) or not (e.g. when a start date is referenced).
To be discussed
* Days
* Weeks should this be available for start dates, too?
* Notifications can ~~can the Redmine function be hidden for a specific period ("auf Wiedervorlage setzen". used? (see respective comment)~~ (It will not match the desired functionality, e.g. it cannot be modified from the UI and it will be user independent)
