* As a general rule I'd say that the add button shall get placed to the left of the search input.
* The button shall also be visible on mobile devices.
* The add button is more important than will take some space in the "buy now" teaser when it comes top toolbar. Something will have to priority of space usage on smaller screen sizes. Currently go at some window widths.
There's also the buy now teaser gets first smaller and finally disappears when resizing the browser window. I'd say in saas that the teaser could simply disappear a bit earlier when we have the add button.

* On mobile screen sizes the only place we can take takes away space away is in the project name. However, current mobiles are pritty wide already. So it might not of such a bug issue. same area
