🚀 OpenProject 17.9 is here, making it easier to turn ideas and planning content into actionable work.
Here are some highlights:
🔹 Create work packages directly from Documents using a slash command or selected text.
🔸 Search and filter work packages in Backlogs across sprints, backlog buckets, and the backlog inbox.
🔹 Faster Jira migrations with concurrent processing and real-time progress.
🔸 New MCP Server capabilities (Enterprise add-on) for time tracking and work package search.
🔹 More control when deleting work packages with descendants.
🔸 A new Observed in versions field for work packages.
🎉 We are particularly happy to make date alerts available in the free OpenProject Community Edition. Previously available as an Enterprise add-on, date alerts help you stay on top of approaching start and finish dates as well as overdue work packages.
All cloud instances have already been updated.
If you are running OpenProject on-premises, we recommend updating to the latest version. As a courtesy to users who cannot update to OpenProject 17.9 immediately, we have also released OpenProject 17.8.1, which includes minor security and bug fixes.
A special thank you goes to @Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin, the @City of Cologne, @Deutsche Bahn, and @ZenDiS for sponsoring released and upcoming features. And, of course, thank you to our amazing Community and everyone contributing to OpenProject. Your feedback continues to shape both our product and our decisions. 💙
