### Steps to reproduce
1. In the global search type "# 6271" (without the space, but otherwise this will be expanded by CKEditor) (any (any other DB ID of a work package that was deleted can trigger this as well)
2. See that nothing is found and an error message is shown in the console and no "No items found" message is shown
3. Add a "3" (to have "# 62713" (without space) in the global search
4. See that nothing is found and an error message is shown in the console and no "No items found" message is shown
5. Try any other search and see that it does not work until you reload the page
6. Navigate to [https://community.openproject.org/wp/62713](https://community.openproject.org/wp/62713) to see that the work package with this ID should be found
###
### What is the expected behavior?
* Work packages that exist and which the user has access to should be found
* Otherwise "No items found" should be shown
* Failed requests should lead to a empty result set ("No items found" message) and a error message in the console. Follow up searches should work.
