Number fields allow people to provide numerical information as free-form text. This field has three formatting options:
* number
* currency
* percentage
You can select the format when editing a field.
Keep in mind:
* Number fields support numbers between -1 trillion and 1 trillion (1,000,000,000,000).
* Jira rounds decimals to the nearest 1000th place. For example, 5.555555 will be rounded to 5.556.
* You can enter large numbers using scientific notation. For example, the number 5,000 can be entered as 5e3.
* Number formatting is stored in the global context, so if the default context is deleted, this will remove the formatting applied (and default to number).Open text box fields
* **Paragraph**
* supports rich text formatting like bold, italics, underline
* **Short text (plain text only)**
* up to 255 characters with no formatting
