Backlogs is one of the oldest parts of the codebase and written in plain JavaScript, without adhering to web dev practices.
We use TypeScript for the rest of our frontend code. Migrating to TypeScript will allow us to take better advantage of our JS/TS infrastructure, tooling, and (with luck) make it easier to further modernise the backlogs codebase going forward.
