## Steps to reproduce
1. Login as an admin
2. Go to Administration >Projects > Project attributes
3. Edit or create a project attribute of type Float
4. Enter a negative maximum value and save
### What is the buggy behaviour?
* User sees blank page
* Error message is only displayed after a page refresh
### What is the expected behaviour?
1. Error message is displayed without page refresh

### Note
from Tobi: this not only happens when entering a faulty max length value, but for any validation error on updating the model. Entering a faulty max length is just a convenient way to cause a failing model validation.
In addition to project attributes, you can also cause the same blank page issue by attempting to edit a work package custom field of type hierarchy. Simply enter an empty name and save it -> blank page.
