**As** an OpenProject user _not_ in the United States
**I want to** be able to read dates in a more logical dd-mm-yy format instead of the American mm-dd-yyyy format
**so that** I am not confused about
**Acceptance criteria**
* In Admin settings (under Calendars and dates → Date formats), it is possible to pick the option 'Based on the user's language'. When this option is selected,
* Keep the current format (mm-dd-yyyy) when a user selects 'English' for 'Language' under Accounts settings → Settings
* Use the format dd-mm-yyyy when a user selects 'English (British)'
**Technical notes**
**Permissions and visibility considerations**
* <br>
**Translation considerations**
* <br>
**Out of scope**
* The ability to choose date format at a user level. There's a separate feature for this:
* <mention class="mention" data-id="64651" data-type="work_package" data-text="##64651">##64651</mention>
